Story & inspiration: Nandi is the Zulu woman that saved tortoise in an African Story of, how the tortoise got its cracked shell. This African Folk tale was performed by me at the Lize colony of Taiwan. A little coastal town where artists unite to CREATE. Karel tortoise wanted to be more important that all the other animals, because he felt that he does not have a special characteristic. He heard of a gathering of the kings and decided to ask eagle to take him there! Maybe he can be king Karel tortoise. In his excitement high above the earth, he forgot to hold on tight... and fell all the way...and landed on his shell. NANDI came by and helped him up. She noticed that he had a cracked shell, different than before and different than all the other animals. Karel tortoise had his own characteristic now, a cracked shell.
